We answer the most common questions that people have about shipping when they order from DJI.com. If you are wondering how to get free shipping from the company, please scroll down near the bottom.

How fast is shipping on DJI.com?

DJI ships their drones directly from China when you order from them. This process is a lot faster than you might think because they expedite it with air travel. In our experience, it takes DJI about 5 – 7 days to deliver your shipment to your doorstep in the United States, Canada, or Europe. Shipping will be extremely fast in parts of Asia.

We ordered a drone in the United States on December 13th. DJI emailed us on December 14th telling us that the order was on the way. They included a tracking number on this email. It took another two days for Fedex to confirm the package was in their hands. Fedex claims the package left on December 16th and it arrived two days later on December 18th.

Many people are reporting having received their drones in three days. This order was near the holiday season so it’s possible that it took longer than average.

I have a tracking number but there’s no information attached?

DJI will email you tracking numbers well before the links will actually work. Sometimes it takes a day or two for the products to be reported on by Fedex. Keep checking the tracking number for the next few days for updates. DJI tends to report an item as shipped to early.

Do I have to sign for the package?

Someone has to be at the door to accept the package from DJI. Fedex says “indirect signature required” on the tracking page. If you are not home during the delivery Fedex will leave a tag on your door saying they missed you and come back the next day. You can sign a waiver for them to leave the package without you being home to accept it.

How can I get faster shipping for free?

One of the downsides of ordering a drone from DJI is that you cannot expedite the shipping on a regular order. Those of us used to two day prime shipping on Amazon will naturally be a little disappointed having to wait.

Fortunately, there is a way to get faster shipping through DJI.com. You can sign up to become a DJI Select member for $29 per year. As part of this offering, you get free expedited shipping. In addition, you get a 50% off discount on DJI Care Refresh.

DJI Care Refresh is the best insurance you can get for your DJI drone. It covers almost every type of damage including accidental water damage for 12 months. You just ship it to DJI and they will repair or replace the drone for a small fee with this extensive warranty.

DJI Select members also get 5 coupons for DJI accessories. You will also get a special coupon on your birthday. Finally, you get exclusive offers sent to you and first dibs on newly released products. DJI Select pays for itself if you were planning on getting DJI Care Refresh anyway.

What should I do if I need faster shipping?

If you can’t wait 5 – 7 days for your drone to arrive then you should consider ordering from somewhere else. We have compiled a list of sites that sell DJI drones. You can also join DJI Select as noted above.

How long do new products take to ship?

Recently launched products can take a long time to ship. DJI has limited inventory when they release a new drone and they run out very fast. Additionally, the huge order quantity tends to slow down the shipping process in general.

People reported waiting weeks (sometimes even a month or more) for their DJI Mavic Pro Platinum drone to ship when they ordered as soon as it was first released. This was thanks to huge demand for the drone. If you want to get a new product as soon as possible, order it as soon as it is released and use DJI Select to prioritize the shipping process.

You probably won’t face any shipping issues if you are ordering a drone that was released at least a few weeks ago. It’s the first units that understandably have a problem.
