Christmas is your last chance in a while to get discounts on a range of drones. Drones are expected to be one of the hottest Christmas gifts this year with more than 3 million quadcopters expected to be sold.

Leading companies like DJI and Parrot are having a sale on a range of drones. DJI has discounts as high as 30% on a range of products. If you are planning on getting a drone and you want it to arrive before Christmas, you should order soon as order and shipping volumes are high.

DJI Drones

DJI has released a sale for Christmas that ends on December 31st. They have released a sale on their latest drones, the DJI Spark and the Mavic Pro.

The DJI Spark normally retails for $499, but you can pick it up for Christmas for just $399. That’s a savings of 20% which is a good deal considering the drone was only released about six months ago.

The Spark is the perfect drone for beginners and travelers who are looking for a portable drone. The Spark is about the size of an iPhone Plus when the propellers are removed and it has gesture controls which allow you to tell the drone what to do just by giving it hand signals. For instance, holding your hands in a square tells the drone to take a selfie.

The Spark has a 16 minute max flight time, a 1080p camera with a 2-axis gimbal, and a max range of 1.2 miles with an optional controller.

The DJI Mavic Pro is a professional grade quadcopter that is the ultimate mix of portability and power. It is only the size of a water bottle when the propellers are folded into the aircraft body. Despite this, it has a max flight time of 27 minutes, a max range of 7 KM (4.3 miles), and an incredible 4K video camera with a 3-axis gimbal.

The Mavic Pro is selling for $899 for Christmas, which is a $100 savings from its retail price. You can get the Mavic Pro Combo for $150 off at $1149, which includes two additional batteries and a bunch of other items.

DJI is also offering a free battery worth $169 with the purchase of the DJI Phantom 4 Pro or the DJI Phantom 4 Advanced directly from their site. These drones are for professional photographers and are more expensive than the Mavic Pro.

DJI makes the highest quality drones that you can buy right now. They are the perfect Christmas gift for those who can afford it, but there are cheaper options that we look at next.

Other Christmas Drones

The Parrot Bebop 2 is on sale for around $345, down from its retail price of $549. That’s a savings of over $200 or 38%. This drone offers the best value for money right now. It has a flight time of 25 minutes and it offers 1080p video with 14 MP stills. Very few drones other than those from DJI have this long of a flight time.

Those looking for a cheap drone for a Christmas gift should consider the Holy Stone HS170. This small drone is selling for $39, down from its list price of $55. It has a range of 30 – 50 meters and a flight time of 6 – 8 minutes. This is pretty good for a drone of this price. It has propeller guards that make it a good choice for kids and people just learning to fly.

You can get the Force1 UDI U818A for around $80. This drone is surrounded by a plastic cage which allows it to survive many crashes without missing a beat. It has a 720p camera and it can do flips in the air with the touch of a button.

The Holy Stone F181C provides plenty of drone for less than $100. It has a longer flight time and more modes than the UDI. It has an altitude hold feature and a return to home button that will bring the drone back to you.

Drones provide hours of fun and get people away from their electronics and outdoors. These best drones are great picks for Christmas.
