How to Choose a Camera

Obviously, the best way to choose a camera is by your budget. You might be tempted to go with the cheapest DSLR you can find, but in Canon’s case we recommend you don’t get the T6. Instead, you should spend a little extra to get the T7i. This is because the T6 is using an extremely old 18 MP sensor, which does not compare well to the 24 MP sensor in newer models.

The T6 also has a maximum ISO of just 6400 and 9 autofocus points. On the other hand, the T7i has a max ISO of 25600 and an impressive 45 autofocus points. The ISO range tells you how sensitive the camera’s sensor is to light. A higher number means the camera will perform a lot better in low light conditions. Autofocus points determine how quickly a camera can latch onto an object before taking a photo. A lower number will result in blurry images if the object is moving. That makes the T7i a lot more superior with sports photography.

Another factor you need to consider is the lens. Some models like the T6 and the T7i come with two lenses. One is for short distances while the other is long range. It’s much more ideal to have a single lens that can capture both, but lenses like that tend to cost as much as the camera.

Overall, Canon has impressive DSLR and mirrorless camera deals this year. This is your last chance to get one and the prices will change soon.
