It’s a 43-inch IPS monitor with a 4K resolution and a standard 16:9 aspect ratio, which easily separates it from the ultrawide Dell U4919DW. It’s an all-around monitor with good overall picture quality, decent gaming performance, and multiple input options.

Design

The 43UD79-B has a simple design, which can also be said for many other LG monitors. The bezels are narrow while the back panel is plain, with a VESA mount interface in the central area. Unlike with most monitors, the VESA pattern is 200 x 200 mm, so keep that in mind if you plan to switch to a wall-mounted setup. The monitor has built-in stereo speakers, which are fairly decent for monitor speakers, although the bass response is not that great.

You can think of it as the more gaming-focused equivalent of the Dell U4919DW.

It’s an IPS monitor with a 4K resolution (as hinted by the model name) and a 60 Hz refresh rate. You can use it for both office work and gaming on PC or consoles.

Design

A 43-inch display, this ViewSonic monitor has a simple design similar to the LG 43UD79-B, featuring narrow bezels at all sides and a plain back panel. The controls are at the back of the monitor, instead of at the bottom edge. There is also a VESA mounting interface on the back panel. But unlike with most monitors, the VESA pattern is 200 x 100 mm, which means the holes are arranged in a rectangular pattern instead of square.

A 43-inch IPS display, the Dell P4317Q is a 4K monitor designed for professional use, featuring multiple inputs and support for Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) You can easily connect it to multiple computers. If you like the ViewSonic and LG monitors above but prefer a Dell product due to the American company’s good after-sales support, get the P4317Q.

Design

Regarding design, the P4317Q is not that different from other Dell professional monitors such as the U2718Q and the P2417H. It has a minimalist design, with narrow bezels all around and a clean back panel with an easily accessible VESA mount interface. The menu and power buttons are out front on the bottom bezel, instead of on the underside. While they are not as intuitive as the joystick control of LG and Samsung monitors, the control buttons are well implemented and don’t feel cheap.

Like the ViewSonic monitor above, this Dell offering features built-in speakers, which are surprisingly decent for monitor speakers. While their bass response is unimpressive, the speakers can get very loud and are decent enough for regular use. But if you are going to play games on this monitor, we recommend getting a pair of headphones or external speakers for a better audio experience.
