3D Printing Scholarship

3D Insider is a publication dedicated to providing in-depth information on 3D printing. We believe that 3D printing is a breakthrough manufacturing technique that will have a wide-ranging and positive impact on the world.

3D printing is still in its early stages and it deserves to have some of the best minds working on improving it. We have setup a scholarship to help support tomorrow’s 3D printing engineers and artists.

We are inviting undergraduate (community colleges included) and graduate students from around the world to apply for a 3D printing scholarship. The winner will receive $1000.

To win the scholarship please submit a brief 250 – 500 word essay on why you are exciting by 3D printing and your favorite STL file with at least a few sentences describing it. Students are encouraged to take risks and they can submit a 3D design for almost anything. Your design must be unique and created by you.

Your entry will be judged on the following:

How creative is the STL design?
How achievable is the STL design?
How useful is the STL design?
How aesthetically pleasing is the STL design (mostly for fashion accessories)?
