The problem with many large 3D printers at the moment is that they print too slowly to effectively use their build volume. InDimension3 has launched a 3D printer that hopes to solve that problem, offering a large build volume and fast print speeds.
InDimeonsion3’s iDeator 12 is a reimagining of the company’s previous Glacier 3D printer series. Similar to the Glacier line, the new iDeator 12 features a large 12 inch cubed build volume (12″x12″x12″), but boasts an impressive 300mm/s print speed, far higher than the majority of 3D printers on the market. The good news doesn’t stop there though, inDimension3 have added dual all-metal extruders capable of withstanding temperatures up to 450°C, along with a high quality heated print bed that’s good for up to 200°C. Materials such as ABS, PLA, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polystyrene, nylon and HIPS are supported. While some would claim that the $3,945 price is slightly too high, we believe that you just can’t beat a fast speed 3D printer.
The Glacier Summit will continue to be sold through the company’s website. With a build size of 16” x 16” x 18”, the Glacier Summit still offers one of the largest build volumes currently available.
Along with the announcement of the iDeator 12, inDimension 12 has also redesigned their website. According to the company “The new site is designed to present a comprehensive solutions platform — high-performance printers, state-of-the-art materials, innovative software and high-quality post-processing tools and services.” The new site also hints that further iDeators are in development, with the possibility of a 16 inch cubed and a 24 inch cubed version becoming available in the future.
